OLYMPOS it is believed that olympos,
which was a Lycian city,was founded during
the hellenistic period. olympos was one of the
six cities with three vates in the Lycian union.
For a while during the 1st century B.C. it was dominated
by the pirates of cilicia and was used as the base of their
leader zenikeles. it become subjet to roman domination in B.C
olympos hot its hey-days during the 1st and 2nd centuries A.C.
during theancient times, it become famous for the fire of lycia
which never vent out and the culture of hephaistas however, during
the 3rd century as a result of the revival of priacy,the city become
poerer.during this period, partified castles were built by the
knights of venice and rhodes. after the 15th century, the city
was completely deserted.olympos was built on two sides of ariver
flowing into the sea which was used as a canaland port for
transpotation.

einen steg.
