| Travelling west from a busy hectic Antalya, you are immediately awe struck
by a spectacular panorama of mystical peaks and a turquoise sea. Enter the ancient region
of Lycia, a wild and moutainous land full of legend and myth. The Lycians as a race were
fiercely independant and determined to defend their freedom against the great empires of
the Persians, Hellenes and Romans. Two thousand years on and the region is opening up to
a modern development and tourism. Lycia has become an important holiday destination with
its special mix of ancient history, Turkish hospitality and culture along with the
magnificant scenery. The haunting tombs of remote cities and uncrowded beaches have become
major attractions to the visitor.
Olympos/Çirali is located on Lycia's eastern shoreline far from the main road.
Forested mountains sweep down dramatic cliffs to the sea, a natural paradise for everyone
to enjoy. |

Olympos - famous for its treehouse accommodation, a popular place for
backpackers and travellers. Basic pension and bungalows are also available, this is one of
the cheapest places to stay in Turkey. All accommodation includes breakfast and an evening
meal. In summer the narrow valley's situation makes for slightly cooler temperatures
than other places along the coast. Winter is damp and colder with the valleys high
cliffs hiding the sun.
A friendly family accommodation can be found at Şaban Pension in Olympos. Experience
timeless feelings and soak in the atmosphere of what is surely one of the most magical
places of paradise in our world. |
