fiercely independant and determined to defend their freedom against the great empires of
the Persians, Hellenes and Romans. Two thousand years on and the region is opening up to

Olympos - famous for its treehouse accommodation, a popular place for
backpackers and travellers. Basic pension and bungalows are also available, this is one of
the cheapest places to stay in Turkey. All accommodation includes breakfast and an evening
meal. In summer the narrow valley's situation makes for slightly cooler temperatures
than other places along the coast. Winter is damp and colder with the valleys high
cliffs hiding the sun.
